plus, 11 work-from-anywhere(ish) marketing jobs
Hey folks,
Happy new year! 🎉
I hope you all had an amazing and restful holiday—I know I did. So much so that I almost decided to delay jumping back into CaaC for a little longer.
But let’s be real—there’s no better time to reset, refresh, and grow than the start of a new year. And if one of your goals for 2025 is to build your personal brand or grow your audience, LinkedIn is the place to start.
That’s why this week kicks off a series I’m calling LockedIn on LinkedIn, where I’ll guide you step-by-step over the next few weeks through building an intentional presence that works for you.
This week? We’re starting with your profile—the foundation of everything you do on LinkedIn. A strong, clear profile doesn’t just make a great first impression—it shows people exactly who you are, what you do, and why they should connect with you.
There’s no better way to kick off the year than by getting your LinkedIn profile in shape.
Whether you’re growing your personal brand, building an audience, or just experimenting with LinkedIn, a strong profile is your foundation.
Step 1: Perfect your headline
Your headline is prime real estate. Use it to show the value you bring, not just your job title.
Examples:
✅ “Helping SaaS companies grow through engaging, human-first content.”
✅ “Social media strategist | Building creator brands on LinkedIn & TikTok.”
Step 2: Craft a magnetic About section
Think of this as your elevator pitch. Who are you, what do you do, and why does it matter?
Hook them with a short, punchy intro sentence.
Share your mission or what drives you.
Close with a call-to-action: “Let’s connect if you’re looking for [specific goal]!”
Step 3: Polish your Featured section
Add 1-3 pieces of content that showcase your best work: an article, a top-performing post, or a personal project. Or go the Lloyd G. route and add an intro video to your post.
Step 4: Visuals matter
Update your profile photo and banner image to reflect your brand. Your visuals are often the first thing people notice!
Step 5: Make your work experience count
Your experience section isn’t a resume—it’s a highlight reel. Focus on results and impact, not just responsibilities.
Action items for this week:
đź› Rewrite your headline to reflect what you do and the value you bring.
đź“Ś Update your Featured section with 1-3 pieces of content.
📸 Refresh your profile photo and banner for a more professional look.
✍️ Revamp your About section using the tips above.
By the end of this week, your profile will work for you, setting the tone for every connection you make.
Next Week: We’ll tackle building a posting habit—how to share content consistently without overthinking it.
Let’s get LockedIn together and make 2025 the year your LinkedIn presence grows. 🚀

A couple of people recommended Spiral, an AI tool that’s great for content repurposing, and I’ve been having a grand old time trying it out. I think you’ll love it too.
